Free Software Association – Bulgaria (FSA-BG, http://www.fsa-bg.org), which is aiming to popularise the distribution and the use of Free Software in Bulgaria and the Linux Professional Institute (LPI, http://www.lpi.org/), the most reliable program for certification of Linux professionals, are organising a week of the Linux education in Bulgaria.
According to the recently signed cooperation agreeement between the Free Software Association – Bulgaria and LPI, the Association has become an official LPI representative for Bulgari and it has started the process for educating and certifying Linux experts in our country.
In relation to this, Mr. Glenn McKnight, the Director for development of programs within LPI, responsible for the local partners around the world and the internationals funding, is arriving in Bulgaria for his official one-week visit.
A number of official meetings and conferences will take place: on the 1st and 2nd of March – in Bourgas, and on the 3rd and 4th of March – in Plovdiv. The meetings will be with school and university tutors, politicians, representatives of the business sectro and the Free Software community representatives.
In the period between 5th and 7th of March, Mr. McKnight will present FSA – Bulgaria as LPI-Bulgaria affiliate, he will meet Members of Parliament, journalists, IT business representatives and he will take part in the WebDev conference (http://webdevmagazine.co.uk/conf/index.php) , presenting the activities of LPI around the world. For the first time in Bulgaria, there will be held a promotional ExamFest – a mass exam for Linux professional certification.
As LPI-Bulgaria, the Free Software Association will assist the creation and development of centres for education and certification of Linux experts in our country. LPI-Bulgaria will organise trainings for improving the IT qualification of employees at ...
